Trending for fall: the skinny scarf

While it may not be the warmest option, the skinny scarf is making a huge debut in fall styles. From high-fashion models to street strutters, this accessory has become a staple for many autumn wardrobes.

I have never been a girl to wear scarves around my neck. They feel itchy and binding and can be somewhat unpleasant. However, the skinny scarf allows some breathing room and can add an unexpected texture or color to an ensemble.

There are many options to choose from, so don’t be put off by the idea right away. I had to try on a couple before deciding that it wasn’t completely ridiculous-looking. You can also wear them many different ways, so you aren’t limited to just one look.

Below is a selection of my favorites, which vary in color, texture and price. I chose these because they will make simple outfits that are thrown on look put-together and well-thought-out. Be bold and try to shop around for some! They are very versatile and not too expensive, so it’s a pretty small risk to try one out. All in all, skinny scarves are a good way to step out of your comfort zone and explore the world of accessorizing.
